The Challenge: Students are still accepting underpaying, and sometimes unpaid, internships. Through primary research, it was discovered that some students believe the benefits outweigh the consequences, even if underpaying and unpaid internships are illegal. How can we empower students to see their value and educate them on their rights?
The Solution: Pay Me, is a not for profit organization that empowers students to take paid internships by giving them the confidence and resources to talk about compensation, their worth and rights. Realistically Pay me would create a safe platform for students to connect through open dialogues on compensation, rights, and various events, like a student-led conference.
